Where do I even begin? I suppose the best place is right at the very start of the story. My journey as an artist began in the town of Cavite in the Philippines, a province that raised my entire family until we came to the United States in the mid-90s. Since I was a kid, I could remember the times when our days at home were filled with music, arts, and crafts. While we were in the Philippines, my mom raised us with creativity pouring out of her hands. With a passion for culinary arts, crafts, and her and my dad’s support for musical arts when we were kids, it’s safe to say that I grew up in a household where creativity was abundant, even if they encouraged more traditional career paths. Whether it was feeding her customers at our home kitchen or feeding her curiosity of flavors, watching my mom in the kitchen pour herself into every dish she made, or new recipe she found, instilled a drive in me I couldn’t shake off.
