
My childhood dream of becoming an author was swiftly put on a back burner while I raised four kids in a little rented duplex. That was truly the greatest job I’ve ever had. But when our oldest son headed for college, and we realized what an investment four college degrees would be, I pulled out that dream of writing again. On New Year’s Day, 1994, I wrote the prologue to what would become my first novel. My husband read it, loved it, and bought me a computer. Five months later, I had a finished first draft and a new greatest-job-ever.
