Catching up with … Stephanie Charvat
When we featured Stephanie Charvat and Laure Bailly of L’AUGUST Provencein the spring issue of WHAT Women Create, we were immediately drawn into their creative environment in Provence, France, where they have set up their painting and sewing studios and create handmade lavender products nestled in packaging that features watercolor scenes of the region painted by Laure. As for the name Auguste, it pays tribute to the legacy of each of their maternal grandfathers (the shared name a special coincidence). Stephanie’s belief in the healing and restorative properties of lavender harvested from the Provençal fields came through so passionately in the story we could almost smell the intoxicating fragrance that surrounds their day-to-day lives.Here’s an excerpt from a recent conversation with her:WC: We featured the story of L’AUGUSTE Provence in early 2023 and wanted to check in because we heard you have a new product line. Tell us more!Stephanie: Yes, we are indeed thrilled to have recently created a brand-new product that we are delighted to share. Since our feature earlier this year, L’AUGUSTE Provence has been immersed in a world of creativity and innovation, leading us to create our new and exquisite product, the Fleur de Lavande soap.
