Cookie Dough & Kim Martucci

Published:

Hi there! You can call me Dough!

My name is Cookie Dough and I handle quality control over at Brimfield Awakening. I am a Teddy Bear hamster and my gray ends with a white middle reminded my owner of an Oreo cookie.

My main task over at the Brimfield Awakening HQ is to provide emotional support during the busy shipping hours of operation. Sometimes this doesn’t jive with my own Circadian rhythm. So Kim (who handles most of the shipping for Brimfield) provides me with my mom’s American Girl doll’s backpack which, as it turns out, is a nice place to catch a few winks whilst periodically checking in on the shipping situation.

I have picked up some new jargon at work. Apparently, the English invented a lot of papers and pieces. I don’t mean to eavesdrop, but I can’t help over- hearing Kim talking to clients and it is always “English Paper Piecing this” or “EPP that.” One thing I do know is that there is a lot of fabric involved. And those tiny scraps they make are just the right size to jazz up my otherwise boring hamster bedding. Some of the scraps are really long and have names on them. I especially like those. I share my cozy bed with Anna Maria Horner and Denyse Schmidt.

Lately Kim and Nisha (the founders of Brimfield Awakening) have approached me about making something called “cameos” in social media videos. This is extra work. So, I got my agent involved to renegotiate my contract. It now stipulates that for any Instagram Reel, I must be compensated with an appropriate snack. No snack = No video.

I hope you’ll come check me out on the @BrimfieldAwakening Instagram account. Will you encourage them to put me in more videos? This bonus snack life style is dope!
