I was raised in a stiflingly conservative household. When I confided that I wanted to tell stories for a living to make the world better through art, I was told either “no” or “a lady doesn’t do that.” As such, I made it my mission to prove that a little girl from nowhere could be anything that she dreamt of. I started my journey as one does, letting my obsession with cartoons (mostly SpongeBob), movies, TV, books, history, and animals as a child, do the driving. I stubbornly grew my passions with sheer willpower, tenacity, networking, and plenty of luck into a career. Whether the world told me I could do it or not, I persisted.
