Like many of us, I loved to draw, color, and paint when I was a child. I remember sitting by my green desk, drawing big yellow flowers; I must have been 5 or 6 years old. When I was 12, I decided to redo my room and stenciled flowers on my gray closet doors. Now, I am a textile designer, artist, maker, author, and facilitator, and I still love to draw flowers. I create organic print patterns and motifs that become yardage; I stencil flowers on fabric, or they are letterpress-printed on stationery. I also paint my motifs on large pieces of paper that I’ll frame, and on clay bowls that I handmake.
