Monica Michelle, BloomTV Founder

Published:

In September of 2020, while the entire world was on hold, Devon Kerns and Monica Michelle sat sipping coffee and had an idea. In the midst of the stillness and a new way of life that forced the majority of the population to be at home, they thought that what the world needed was a bit of beauty. Through this conversation, BloomTV began to take form.

The idea was to create an educational website where videos about flowers, floral care, edible flowers, etc., could live. This idea quickly began to take its own shape and went from a simple education website to an entire streaming network in a matter of months. What was once short educational videos from a few flower professionals in the industry was now turning into pilots, shows, and series that revolved around the flower.

Neither Monica nor Devon had ever built a streaming network. It wasn’t easy and wasn’t even a first language, but Devon had told Monica, “You don’t need to know how to do it; you just need to be able to hold the big vision, and the right people will show up to help.” He was right. In a matter of months, BloomTV had gone from 4 once-off professionals in the industry who agreed to be on camera and talk about flowers to over 100 floral professionals, artists, designers, and chefs from across the globe who were all making their own videos and submitting them to be housed on our platform. The internal team of 2 people turned into 10, and the “baby” channel began to walk.

In January of 2022, BloomTV’s site launched to the public for the first time, giving the lovers of flowers a place to go and people in the industry a stage to stand on and be recognized through. BloomTV was no longer just bringing inspiration and beauty to its viewers but was now becoming an outlet for creators and artists who work with flowers.

Today, BloomTV is recognized as the network for all things floral. On this platform, people can enjoy an immersive video library created by experts from across the globe as they demonstrate the various ways that flowers can be used. Whether you’re incorporating flowers into your garden, your home, art, DIYs, recipes, or more, this lifestyle channel will show you that there are endless ways to incorporate flowers into your every day and experience life in full bloom.

Just when BloomTV thought it couldn’t get any better, the content creators began to get even more involved. Now these creators are assisting BloomTV with new show ideas, fun collaborative activities that the content creators can all be a part of, and even introductions to companies they love that they would like to see become a part of BloomTV. That’s exactly how our latest venture came about. One of our content creators, Lori Siebert, who is a fantastic artist, introduced us to the founder of Women Create, Jo Packham.

This is an introduction that has changed BloomTV for the better. Right away, we began exploring the possibilities and how our two companies could come together to create magic.

Now we are proud to say that BloomTV has partnered with WHAT Women Create magazine in order to bring viewers a whole new world of inspiration and creativity. Together, WHAT Women Create and BloomTV are bringing the well-known and beloved magazine to life through a new video series where floral-inspired artists tell their stories and share what inspires their craft. The first episode became available on May 31, 2022, and can be watched on www.BloomTVNetwork.com.

The possibilities truly seem to be endless. One of the biggest things that we have taken away from our experience so far is that no matter if it’s a company or a creative endeavor, if the right passion sits behind it, it will take on its own life form. You have to be willing to let it breathe, grow in its own way, and allow room for powerful collaborations. WHAT Women Create is one of those powerful partnerships that we feel incredibly honored and excited to be a part of. We look forward to all of the magic that is yet to unfold.
