Kimberly Teske Fetrow was born and raised in Walla Walla, Washington (yes, it is a real place), where she earned a history degree from Whitman College. Fetrow has been a professional commercial and portrait photographer for over 25 years. Although she counts herself as one of the lucky ones to begin her career shooting on a Hasselblad, she’s been a Nikon girl since the beginning.
She’s had work appear in Time magazine, The New Yorker, Woman magazine, Food & Wine, The Tasting Panel, Nature, New Mobility magazine and more. Fetrow has won awards for her work in medical marketing photography and has been published internationally.
Some of her favorite shoots require climbing tower cranes, flying in helicopters with the door off, and riding on big farm equipment. She’s worked extensively in the wine, agricultural and health care industries. The grossest thing she’s ever shot for marketing? Cows being inseminated. Favorite subjects to shoot? High school seniors and all things commercial — especially anything wine related and assignments that show people living their best lives. She’s traveled all over the country for her commercial work and even to Canada. She’ll pretty much do whatever is needed to get the shot. Fetrow has referred to her job as “one big field trip after another” and loves that “she gets to see things most people only get to see on TV.”
She now lives in Richland, Washington, where she shares her life with her husband, Greg Fetrow, a high-school chemistry teacher. They are proud parents to their two college-age daughters, Sophia and Isabella. Her big fluffy gray cat, Paris, is her boss when she isn’t out on location. Kim likes to knit, embroider, read, and create with fabric, beads and other colorful fibers.
