Kim Louise

on social media

Hi everyone, my name is Kim Louise Wadlington, known simply as Kim Louise. I am a multi-faceted artist whose creative journey weaves through the realms of photography, three-dimensional stone painting, interior design, and my love of travel. I live in Dana Point, California, where, from sunrise to sunset, art is everywhere — just look up! Dana Point is also known as the whale watching capital of the world.

Here, I co-own several natural pet stores, Earthwise Pet, along with my family. Who knew a girl from Missouri would be making her dreams come true in California? “Have Nikon, will travel,” was my motto at Northwest Missouri State University, while also being a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity and studying fashion design.

Born with a passion for nature, design detail and creative art, I created Kim Louise Designs in the Chicagoland market, which encompassed residential and commercial design, creative faux finishes and photography. Our outdoor tag sales in Barrington, Illinois, are still talked about to this day. Talk about junk’n! That is how Sandy and my friendship started and grew.

My photography reflects a distinctive spiritual and free-spirited perspective to the viewer. I love to capture the intricate dance between the shutter and the soul in natural light scenes. I also try to make my landscape photography transform into a poetic narrative where nature becomes a living canvas.

Today, I am aiming for creative family and pet compositions to be brought to life with a sense of “pets are family” values. Simple beauty surrounds us everywhere and I hope to always seek that daily and share it with anyone needing a bit of inspiration through my KIMMERSCARDS, little inspirational handmade notecards I’ve been making since 1997. I hope my work resonates with those who seek a deeper connection with nature’s beautiful simplicity through my lens.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share in this wonderful outpouring of admiration for these creative women yesterday and today.
