Jack Courtney

on social media

Jack Courtney, born in rural Lincolnshire, U.K., and raised in the muddy landscape of the English countryside, is now a London-based creative and uses photography as a means to capture the moments in life we do not want to forget so easily. For almost a decade, Jack worked within the social care sector supporting vulnerable young people before leaving his life in the Midlands behind and taking the plunge to explore his more creative instincts by accepting a place at Rose Bruford School of Performing Arts in Sidcup to study costume production. When not at his sewing machine, he uses his camera to celebrate the work of other creative professionals in the hopes of empowering them and promoting the hard work and dedication that go into handmade and independent works of art.

As a maker himself, Jack appreciates and understands that it is so easy to get lost in deadlines when your art is also your business; and with the rising awareness of mental health issues around the world, he believes there has never been a more important time to take a step back to appreciate your work, never failing to fall in love with your passions over and over. There is a beauty in those moments and a privilege to be the one capturing them.
