Splash Fabric / Tracy Krauter

I’m Tracy Krauter, designer/founder of Splash Fabric, creators of extraordinary laminated cotton fabric and sewn goods. Our line is for fellow makers: crafters, gardeners, cooks, sewists, other mess makers, you.

I took sewing in sixth grade and won the Singer Sewing Contest with a double-knit pantsuit! When I had kids, I made their clothes and my business was born. When I needed easy-to-clean fabric for life’s messes, I searched for laminated fabric. Not finding the prints I wanted, I dove off an entrepreneurial cliff, learned surface pattern design and built my own fabric line. Today there are 25 prints and more in the works.

With three boys, my goal is to prevent more laundry.

As a former park ranger, I believe in sustainability. Our fabric is OEKO-TEX certified and biodegradable. Our eco-friendly, non-toxic “Not Your Grandma’s Oilcloth” is unique in the market. Its spill-proof matte finish and fresh designs will keep your customers coming back for more.

Everyone falls in love with our fabric at first touch (it’s buttery soft and so easy to sew), but some are afraid to use it. We can show them how.
