Sibylle Eschenlohr lives in Reutlingen, Germany, and is an agricultural engineer, felt maker, sheep lover and maker of wearable art, vegetarian rugs, and fluffy wool products.
Sibylle stands for a very special kind of creativity. She makes felt fur. The 50-year-old sells these fake fur products made from virgin wool mainly at markets in the region. In her workshop in a disused industrial building, there are piles of pads for stove benches and seat cushions, vests hanging next to jackets. Black-grey, wool-white and brown-patched: They all look shaggy. And at the same time, deceptively real. But what is real?
