THE ESSENTIALS OF LEADERSHIP

Published:

It’s funny when the word, “leadership,” is mentioned…everyone thinks of the CEO of a large company and the responsibility they have for hundreds of people. In truth, you can be a leader of 1000s, 100s, 10 or… even simply, just yourself. Leadership is about you and me…who we are and who we can be. Whether you are moving out of a dorm room or moving into an executive suite, you are already a leader in the eyes of others…but maybe not to yourself. My goal is not to just invite you to be in that role, but to help you own it and let the magic happen.

Every day, there is another woman who is outstanding in her field, and making things happen to change, transform and create a better future of opportunities for the women coming through the ranks. The amazing part is that these women are younger and have more tools available to them than the women we call, “trailblazers,” had. They have platforms to speak on and mentors to question, and yes, they are making a difference in our everyday lives. They are the future of women in leadership and their confidence in knowing that is something we must admire.

I saw, however, that there was something missing. The inherent skills that women bring to leadership are essential and timeless. Some of you will recall that, in 2016, I declared my mission to help one woman a day. No matter where I was or what I was doing, when I said that out loud, there would be a woman that would raise her hand and ask if she could be my woman that day. In 2017, I knew I needed to take this one step further and do something bigger on a larger scale—that’s when the idea of WALKING ON THE GLASS FLOOR was born…to bring the basic principles from my years of experience to today’s women. I wanted to share my expertise with more women and also be able to give back to those who may not have the financial means or ability to even ask for help for fear of being turned down.

In 2018, with the publication of the best seller WALKING ON THE GLASS FLOOR: Seven Essential Qualities Of Women Who Lead we breathed life into my vision. We decided to launch a global movement to create a new work culture that encourages women to lead authentically and engage men to better understand the value of women’s contributions! We are now collaborating with women, men, organizations and charities around the globe to support ALL women in the development of their inherent qualities. Our goal is to have every woman and every man fully understand their personal strengths and challenges in the areas of:

PASSION

AUTHENTICITY

COURAGE

COMMUNICATION

DECISIVENESS

RESILIENCE

GENEROSITY

We are now able to bring “to life” the principles of the book to leaders, emerging leaders and those women that are entrepreneurs leading themselves. We have developed an intensive interactive training program that personally “awakens” these essential qualities and aligns them with the personal leadership style of each. Within this training, we are engaging the men to champion women, and together, create a culture within which women can be heard, respected, trusted, and authentic and achieve their dreams. By developing these qualities, we are helping those in high-level positions to establish a culture of inclusivity. With those developing themselves as leaders, we are helping fully understand their value and enhance their potential for increased leadership. Most important, while doing this, we are supporting the causes that matter to them personally and the matters important to their companies. With this movement, my vision of true equity can be achieved in our lives and workplace… as I always say, “Women Want To Be Treated Equally…Not Identically”™

Judy is the host of a weekly radio show on The Women 4 Women Network/iHeart Radio and is also featured as “The Gender Expert” on Fox News Radio. Women of Visionary Influence (WOVI) named her as a finalist for Mentor of the Year, and Thrive Global has identified Judy as one of their top 2019 picks for female entrepreneurs who are truly making strides to further the women’s empowerment movement, carving the way for the next generation of female entrepreneurs and artists.
