Patricia Burmicky is a Venezuelan/Slovenian photographer based in New York City. She specializes in portrait and event photography and is a graduate of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.
In 2011, she founded PhotoUno Photography School in Manhattan, where she teaches photography enthusiasts and coaches them on their way to becoming professional photographers.
She has been commissioned by world-renowned organizations such as the New York City Ballet and Emory University, and fashion brands like Max Mara, L Brands and Kenneth Cole.
In 2020, Patricia started “The Woman I Will Become” project, which seeks to inspire girls and young women through a series of portraits of inspirational women. In January 2022, she launched the inaugural “The Woman I Will Become” contest in her native Venezuela to shine a light on those women who continue to struggle and, at the same time, help launch the careers of up-and-coming female photographers.
In March 2022, for International Women’s Month, she curated and exhibited her work, along with the results of the contest, at the Blue Gallery in New York City and Centro Cultural Chacao in Caracas, Venezuela.
