Michael Van Auken was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. His love of photography began in high school, and his career as a professional photographer has spanned four decades. Michael specializes in photographing people at all times of their lives, capturing the moments that become memories. One of Michael’s personal projects includes a series of collaborative artists’ portraits. Using a combination of surreal settings and digital manipulation, each completed portrait image embodies both artist and their artwork.
Michael’s studio is in the historic Benicia Arsenal. He is an active member of Benicia’s artist community.
