During my studies at the University of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main, I was able to earn a living with commissioned work such as making portraits. As a little girl, I was already painting the walls of my childhood room. Mixing colors or drawing faces fascinated me from the start.

I had a close relationship with my grandfather. He gave me my first sketch pad and thus laid the foundation for my work.

I can remember very well how I sat in the garden with my grandfather and we captured the beautiful flowers that surrounded us in my drawings.

So I internalized how a flower smelled, what it looks like and I have never been able to forget it. He bequeathed to me the house with the garden where we painted together. It is a wonderful world of fairy tales today. Many children, young people and art students who love painting and drawing come to here and take lessons.

Grandfather’s old farm from 1893 has been converted into a courtyard for artists. The large studio is located in the adjoining building.

Many cellars and stables are on this old farm. Grandfather had kept a lot of historical things like old china or valuable documents and fabrics. Every now and then, when I had time, I rummaged in old carved boxes that could be found in the old barn. One time I discovered a historic sewing machine. It was in good condition and oiled. It wasn’t a normal sewing machine, but for shoes.

I have always loved unusual clothes. My drawing students loved me for it. But until this point, I had only been able to do drawing and painting professionally. That was about to change with this old sewing machine.

I began to paint a woman’s face on a canvas. I cut out this portrait and fixed it on my ballerina shoes. With the sewing machine from the 18th century, I was now able to sew the piece of canvas in place.

During this time, I met up with a few other artist friends and their response to the shoes was staggering. They are small, special works of art that have a high aesthetic appeal.

Inside, it has always slumbered in me. The desire to be able to do something with art, but also fashion. With these extraordinary shoes this great wish should come true and it actually did. I discovered this world of shoes, which are as special as the people who wear them.It has become my great passion to create these shoes.

I have created more and more models by hand and my shoes are becoming more and more unique and creative. I lend a hand to all the shoes and paint them, but that’s not all. Some are also embroidered and only antique historical fabric is used.

I color everything myself with leaves, flowers like lavender or walnut.

Very special colors are created. With this model I was again inspired by the flowers in my garden. I can finally implement all my ideas and dreams and let them run free.

The plant leaves, which I practiced as a child with my grandfather and which were my first drawings, are applied to the shoes as applications.

I have already met many wonderful women who have bought my shoes. Life for me has become more colorful and exciting, because almost every day I receive invitations from women who have fallen in love with my shoes. These women recognize the value of their work and have a feeling for it. They wear the shoes with great pride and enjoy being admired for it.
