My journey as an artist has been shaped by a singular passion: to connect people with the beauty and serenity of nature through art. Growing up, I was always captivated by the intricate details of the natural world—the veins of a leaf, the way light filters through the trees, and the rhythmic flow of organic forms. These moments of quiet observation inspired me to create pieces that honor nature’s delicate complexity. Today, as a designer and sculptor working with porcelain and light, I aim to translate these fleeting moments into works of art that bring joy and tranquility to those who encounter them.

The creative process is my sanctuary. Perfect happiness for me is found in those uninterrupted hours in the studio, immersed in the rhythm of creation. It is in this space where ideas flow freely, taking shape as sketches and then evolving into tangible, expressive forms. There is a deep sense of fulfillment in knowing that my work can transform a space, infusing it with the same calm and energy that one feels when surrounded by nature.

My journey began with an intuitive pull toward materials that could express the ephemeral qualities of light. Porcelain, with its translucent and delicate nature, became the perfect medium. I was drawn to its ability to capture light’s ethereal beauty while maintaining a sense of strength and resilience. However, working with porcelain is not easy—it demands precision, patience and a willingness to embrace imperfection. Early in my career, I experienced moments of frustration when pieces would crack during the firing process or fail to meet my vision. But with every challenge came growth, and I learned to see these setbacks as opportunities to refine my technique and deepen my connection to the material.

My work is heavily inspired by organic forms, particularly the leaves, flowers and patterns found in nature. Nature offers an endless source of creativity. Its beauty lies in its imperfection, its unpredictability, and its ability to evoke emotion. I strive to capture these qualities in my light sculptures, creating pieces that feel alive, as though they have grown organically within the space they inhabit.

Creating each sculpture is a journey of transformation. It begins with a sketch, often inspired by moments in nature that have caught my eye—a shadow cast by a tree, the gentle curve of a petal, or the interplay of light and water. These sketches form the foundation of my designs, capturing the essence of nature in abstract forms.

Next comes the shaping of porcelain. This stage is both technical and intuitive, requiring a careful balance of skill and creativity. I mold each piece by hand, shaping delicate leaves and petals that will eventually come together in a cohesive design. The firing process is crucial—it is here that the raw material is transformed into a resilient yet delicate form. This stage requires patience and precision, as even the smallest imperfection can compromise the final piece.

The final step is assembly, where each individual element finds its place in the larger composition. This is the most rewarding part of the process, as it is here that the sculpture comes to life. When the light interacts with the porcelain, it reveals the intricate details and textures, creating a sense of movement and vitality.

The path of an artist is rarely smooth, and my journey has been no exception. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is mastering the technical aspects of working with porcelain.

It is an unforgiving material, and even after years of practice, it continues to surprise me. Yet, it is precisely this challenge that keeps me engaged and inspired. Every crack, every misstep is a reminder of the importance of resilience, adaptability and the pursuit of excellence.

Another challenge has been finding a balance between my creative vision and the practical demands of running a studio. As an artist, it is easy to become consumed by the creative process, but there is also a need to manage the logistics of production, marketing and client relationships. Over time, I have learned to navigate these demands, drawing strength from the support of my talented team and the joy I find in my work.

One of my proudest moments was creating a large-scale light sculpture for a public space in New York. This project was a culmination of years of dedication and represented a significant milestone in my career. It was deeply rewarding to see my work in such a prominent setting, knowing that it would bring beauty and inspiration to countless people.

At the heart of my work is a mission to reconnect people with the natural world. In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven society, we are often disconnected from the beauty and tranquility of nature. My goal is to create pieces that serve as a bridge, bringing the outdoors into our living and working spaces. Each sculpture is a celebration of nature’s resilience and a reminder of our own connection to it.

I believe that art has the power to transform not only spaces but also the way we see and experience the world. By incorporating elements of nature into my designs, I hope to inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. My work is not just about creating beautiful objects—it is about evoking emotions, sparking joy and fostering a sense of harmony.

Reflecting on my journey, there are a few lessons I wish I had known when I first started. One of the most important is the value of persistence. There will always be setbacks and challenges, but it is through these moments that we grow as artists and as individuals. Another is the importance of staying true to your vision. It can be tempting to follow trends or conform to external expectations, but the most meaningful work comes from a place of authenticity.

As I continue to explore the possibilities of porcelain and light, I am excited to push the boundaries of what is possible in art and design. My hope is to create pieces that not only inspire but also encourage people to see the world through a lens of beauty and interconnectedness. In every leaf, petal and ray of light, there is a story waiting to be told—a story of resilience, transformation, and the enduring power of nature.

In the end, my work is a celebration of life in all its forms. It is a reminder that even in the most delicate and fleeting moments, there is strength, beauty, and a profound connection that unites us all. Through my art, I hope to share this vision with the world, one sculpture at a time.
