For those of us who have lived in, thrived in, and found both passion and peace in the handmade world of textiles, we understand all that comes with making what we love by hand. It is everything for us: the most personal gift we can give to ourselves or to someone else; a sense of pride and accomplishment; the euphoria that just fills the room when a piece is completed and it is more than we had dreamed it could be. But I don’t think we, I, realized through my 43 years of publishing storybooks and magazines on art, studios, and business … what is actually the most important gift of what we create … which is our protection of the environment.
