My name is Bizzi the Schnauzer, and I am the studio manager for my human. I’m sweet sixteen now and I’ve been around since I was 3 months old. Formerly the furry doorbell, my duties have changed a bit in the last few years since my hearing is not what it used to be. I’m excellent at testing quilts for softness, inspecting finished objects, and serving as a model.
My human designs fabric for Wishwell, a division of Robert Kaufman Fabrics. She also creates contemporary abstract quilts. Since she seems to spend a lot of time in the studio I frequently remind my human to take breaks and sniff the garden flowers. This is accomplished by borrowing fabrics and prancing around with them until I have her attention.
My other job is to visit my adopted “grandparents” for a few days at a time. This has been very important during the pandemic because they were being very good and staying home. I enjoy being spoiled by them.
I guess I’m entering the golden era of my life so I’m relaxing and taking more naps. I still snap to attention if I see a squirrel or deer out the window. Who do those guys think they are, anyway?! I didn’t invite them to this party.
If you want to see more of me, I have an Instagram account: Bizzi_The_Schnauzer. Stop by and say hello! Until then, I’ll be over here taking another break.
